Reedy September 2015 Hi, I am trying to fix our Kenwood KDW 1274w washing up machine. First I had an E4 error message. I had took the machine apart, and i found a pipe not connected. I fixed it and put the machine together again.

While I was fixing it, the machine was laying on its side. I started it again and I do not have the E4 message anymore, BUT. The pump is not running. The time counts back on the display, no error message, the machine filled itself up with water, but nothing going on. Only a big silence. There was no problem with the pump before. Do you have any idea what to check?

' I also had the same problem. I checked to ensure that there were no blockages.

Once I found that this was not the problem I had to open the machine. I took off the back, top and side covers to access the reticulation pump. On the side of the pump is the solenoid valve that controls the flow of water to the bottom arm. I found that the valve was broken and stuck in the closed position. As i was unable to source a replacement valve I just put it back minus the broken flap (valve). My argument is that since i never use a 1/2 cycle and also have a full dishwasher there is no point at which i would want the bottom arm not to operate.
